Hello,
I have a 4 door Silverado 3500 with a camper shell if I use a magnet mount in the center of the cab. Will the fiberglass shell make a difference in reception?

Nope, you shouldn't have any problems getting a good SWR but the fiberglass might cause some noise as static electricity builds up on it's surface.

Late to the party here, but I believe Chevy still builds their cabs out of steel, so shouldn't be a problem at all.
Coils = loss.
Good audio, Quality coax, sturdy mounts, good springs, and a big stainless stick get you out and give you ears!
