Daughter's Cell Phone

Post by MDYoungblood » Tuesday, 10 July 2018, 7:22 AM

Hey,

Funny story I would like to share.

My oldest daughter and family (3 grandsons and SIL) went to Hersey Park yesterday. I got a call from my SIL (son in law) that my daughter had lost her cell phone (it is an Apple X). He asked me to see if I could use my "locate my phone" to find it (his phone is a Samsung, doesn't have that app). Instead of the phone I used my Mac computer, it brought up the screen and I could get a map of the park to within 200ft. I called her phone number from the computer and turned on the "find my phone" app and I could see it moving around the park. Talking to my SIL, I got him I would say "close" (granted the map was at 200ft) and told him I'll call her cell, listen for it to ring,, lol,, the person with the phone was standing in a line at a park security stand turning the phone in.

Glad to see there are still honest people in the world.

That doesn't surprise me. I had lost a phone, sure it was 8 years ago, but same situation. I was at home and got a call from a 10 year kid at the 7-11 store. He had found my cell and called the home number on it. Wow, i was surprised, never thought i was going to see it again. So as a reward gave him $20 People will always surprise you

Great story's. I've found in my life that most people are good. It's just the few that make it seem worse

Yes, when she got it back the first thing I said to do was to put a emergency number in the phone so someone can call out without it being unlocked.

On my Samsung S 5 and my daughters Samsung I have "Lookout" installed...It's a tracking app that is accurate within just a couple of feet! (FREE APP) When my daughter was in Collage I would bring up the app and see where she was...One day her and a friend was out walking around the park that's on the campus, so I called her just to see if she would tell me where she was at...I told her not to get too close to the water, because there maybe snakes out...she thought I was around the corner watching.

Lookout also has a loud scream you can activate so if the phone is misplaced, you can listen for the loud screech and find it..."It's LOUD!" :o

Also with Lookout you can lock the phone so no one can use it if it's lost or stolen from any computer or laptop or other phone just by going to the Lookout web site and logging in...You can also wipe the phone the same way.

My SIL has a Samsung from his work because the job supplies some work app's like tracking etc., my daughter has an iPhone like the rest of my family, hmm, think she is still on my plan too.
