Skywalker quit making amps. They no longer offer them. I contacted them about their build process, since they are the cleanest built amps i have ever seen. They said they dont make any money on them so they dropped the amplifiers. Too much overhead cost. That is why most amp builders use big ugly cabinets for amps, to keep cost down.

I run a custom linear amplifer.

I'm running a 10 pill Dave in the mobile and was running a sky walker 6pill in the house for a while but i got the new tubes for my Maco 750 brute. that old brute is a talker. I've got pics at my pap's house of it keying 100watts swinging close to 1kw.

the sky walker was a very clean amp but just not my style..J

I ran a "DX" made by a guy in Louisiana...they looked A LOT like a Texas Star, only it had big toggle switches in place of the TS's push butons. I bought it from a log truck driver near Jackson, Mississippi...he was running an 8 pill of the same make.

Not sure of the construction (it was riveted together), but it would swing almost 600 watts with my cobra 29 putting around 15 watts peak into it...I believe it was 10/125 low, 10/max med, 250/max high. I guessed it was a 4 pill?? It pulled around 50 amps from the battery...

I know it surprised the guy I traded it to...he told me a box that size would only do 250...then it swung 550 with almost no input on his setup...I really liked that amp, kicked myself ever since I traded it.

No I have a MF80 coming...let the downward spiral begin!

I don't need one. I just wanted to vote for my choice @ the beginning of the thread. I Run a Firebird 500 (four31LQ6) and a Heathkit SB1000 (one3-500z).

That might be because, with the exception of the Fat Boy, most of those brands aren't as popular as they used to be. Example, in the tube world, it used to be Maco, Varmint, Maverick, etc. Those things are almost extinct now in comparison. -drdx
Yes it's me, Dollar-98, drdx, the original all maul, shot cawla on workin this no-fade technology.

Well, I just know what I have seen.

Fat Boy is actually pretty new in my book. Palomars are okay, but run hot. Always been happy with Messenger... Never an issue there other than no remote option.
