10 meter = ham radio
11 meter = cb radio
12 meter = ham radio

You are allowed to use 11 meter radio. A typical 11 meter radio is very low powered and doesn't have many features. Most "10 meter" radios are powerful and feature packed. Most folks that use 10 meter radios buy them and convert them to 11 meter so they get a strong feature packed radio on the 11 meter band.

There's some radios listed as 10 and 12 meter radios like the 2950DX. Typically those cover 10 and 12 but can be converted to cover 10, 11, and 12 meters.

Don't get caught on 10 or 12 meter without the proper license.

Yes. I'm pretty sure it's a Galaxy 33 HML knockoff. Northstar/Northpoint/Cherokee were knock off radios of Galaxy and Magnum. They're not "bad" radios but may not be the quality of the other big brands. If you're using the radio, and can transmit and receive on 19, then it's already been converted over.

If it is converted then just be careful b/c it's not type accepted and not legal to use on 11 meters. Tons of people use them, but I just wanted to get that strait.

10 meters is from 28 to 29.7 mhz
11 meters, "cb" is from 26.965 to 27.405 in 10kc increments with some that skip for other uses, being the "A" channels between 3&4, 7&8, 11&12, etc.
12 meters is down in the top of 24 mhz, 24.93-24.99 I think.

If you choose to freeband it, DEFINITELY stay above 26 mhz and below 28 mhz and even then you're not legal but at least you're not on an active ham band. Still, those "freeband" areas are assigned to someone, some government agency probably, somewhere. Maybe it is the military, maybe the forestry service, but rest assured they are assigned to something and not just free. That said, there is still many who operate there trouble free.

Depending on the antenna you have and they way it is tuned, operation very far outside of the 11m band is probably not going to be practical anyway.
