Browning 776 Mic Help

#384282

Post by RodinKy »

Just got a 776 mic, says it needs 5 volts on pin 4 to work. Previous owner has changed mike input on my Mark IV and pin 4 is empty, does anyone know where I can hook a jumper to get five volts to the mike pin. Please don't tell me to read schematic not that electrically smart just need a simple fix, thanks in advance

Is the radio a Mark IV or a Mark IVA? I'll see if I can find it on a schematic for you.

okay, here is what I found,

Look for the load numbered L604 or a cap numbered C625, you should be able to use those spots to connect to, check the voltage on transmit first.

Make sure you check it and it is only hot (+5v) on transmit or your mic will become a paperweight.

MDY, you won't believe this but whoever had this radio has removed the entire circuit that goes to the number 4 pin on the mic connector, I'm going a different route and put the guts of another mike that is wired for this radio into the 776 body. Thanks for your help.
