Been looking for a nice Hickok TV 7 tester. Is the model D/U really way better than the rest of the other TV 7 models ? Any model TV 7's to stay away from? Thanks

sorry but i am not familiar with a hickok. i use to test tubes on an old philco unit, and later had enough equip and specs to do individual tests, that was so long ago. now i have a mini tester that i picked up at a garage sale, its just been collecting dust.
have not looked at a tube tester for many years. kinda like my old hand-crank ice cream machine,,,,,sorry.

Sadly I don't know the TV7 model but I can tell that my 539b can tell you more about the operating state of a tube than anything else I've used. I've gotten a lot of false good readings from my old Eico tester. Being able to get an actual measurement of the gm of the tube as well as leakage really has helped solve some mysteries.
