jc penny 981-6241 clarifier mod and am regulator

Hello all. I bought a JC Penny 981-6241 base ssb radio at a hamfest last weekend for $5. It looks nice and is stock but I think I have an am regulator problem. I would like to do the clarifier also. Can anyone point me in any directions as to what transistor the am regulator is, and what to do for a clarifier?

Any help is greatly appreciated.
