Cobra 29 LX LE With RFX-75, Rating 5, High Performance!

Post by Bulldog777 » Saturday, 05 February 2011, 4:50 AM

I bought this Cobra 29 LX LE with RFX-75 through Custom CB Radios. Doug did a fine job upgrading the receive added the RFX-75 power module. Have had this radio for a good number of months. Has performed flawlessly and made many DX contacts! The radio was packed very well and original box inside was altered to make room for the RFX-75 because it sticks out. The radio came with the the usual expect he included a heavy duty 12 gauge dual fused power cord. Really like all the features of this radio. Use this as my primary base station. Tried it in the mobile but did not care how the display weakens in high light situations. The knobs take so getting use to but liveable. Found the signals on the digital meter compare very will with analog. Out of the displays my favorite is green and blue. The weather comes in real well off my Imax -2000. Give this poduct a rating of 5! Great customer service and product that performs! Well I think that about covers it. Here are a few pictures on the product and in use.

Doug is the man! He's always been a pleasure to deal with.

Thanks for the review Bulldog. This is a feature of the site that hasn't been used much in the past year and I'm very happy to see new product reviews coming out!

Hi,

The Cobra LX LE is a great radio. It a Cobra 29 LTD with a new look. My only concern is the RFX-75. RF has a tendency to get into micro-processor and can effect the display.

I have not have seen any problems with the power mod RFX-75 yet, but a high SWR can make the display act up or even fail. I have found this to be the case when RF has no place to go. Other than that so far so good.

Nice photos of the color displays. I prefer red or green at night. I just added the radio to my Website with more info to come.

Respectfully,
Best Regards,
