**NON-SPONSOR** GP Riser, Rating 5, Great Product!

Post by Bulldog777 » Wednesday, 02 February 2011, 13:36 PM

I took a visit to **NON-SPONSOR** 626 Pucks and saw a few things that would improve my big old 102" stainless steel whip. Not much of a spring person so the 6" GP Riser will work out great. Made of 100% stainless steel and has a modern look. It was packed real well in one of those small flat rate postal box. Fits into any good size mailbox. Very simple upgrade! I rate this product a 5 because all of the threadings, finish and design, perfect! Here are a few pictures of what was installed.

A friend of mine in MA bought one and did a before with his old spring and after with the GP Riser. What a big difference in appearance and SWR remained the same. That ugly spring did not do his truck justice for sure.

I love my 10k's, but the 102" whip looks better on my interceptor so I've switched to that. :rambo:

And yes, I've wanted to buy one, it just keeps slipping my mind. :pale:

Hey **NON-SPONSOR**, Lets design one with a "detent" hinge in the center, something that will allow it to take the place of the spring yet still allow it to "unlock" and pivot if a severe contact is made with the upper portion of the antenna. There are no limits with the workmanship you're capabile of.

Thanks HACKSAW. Been thinking of a folding riser... Are you talking about a break-away?

The next batch will likely be Black Oxide.

Yes, a "break away" type of design with perhaps a strong spring/ball detent system that could fold over in an impact or perhaps even manually released for low entrance areas. You can use that idea, just remember who told ya!

I just noticed this, Bulldog. **NON-SPONSOR**'s GP Riser & Corona Ball are nice! 5 stars for me on both! I was impressed by the weight of the riser, as it's not some flimsy tube, but a SOLID machined piece of 303 stainless steel. I put these on my 102" whip on 01/30/2011, and haven't looked back since! Here are my pics that Bulldog mentioned:

Keep up the great work **NON-SPONSOR**! I'll be looking forward to a **NON-SPONSOR** Puck (maybe SR-71) and a GP Tactical Mount for my new truck in 2012.

This is Big Hoss, and I'm out!
