Pinch Proof Coax for Mobil Installation

Trying to route coax cable through my car is proving difficult the probalm is that in order to route the cable through small gaps in the upholstry, the cable can get pinched. The foam insulator core cables are shorting out. What I need is a coax cable with a solid insulator that is more resistant to pinching. Also, the solid conductor cores are unreliable because of installation issues. Can anybody recommend a coax type/brand with a solid insulator core and a stranded conductor core?

I've never had a problem, most vehicles have a wire channel on either side door openings. You have to remove the door sill plates, lift the carpet to see the channel. The hardest thing I've ran into is getting the headliner to stretch back tight. The type of coax I use if it didn't come with the antenna is Belden 9258 (RG8X size).

Its a Fiat 500 not a Ford F350 Super Duty!

How do you have the coax routed now. Every car has a kick plate/door sill plate to remove and you can run the coax there.
What kind of antenna and where is it mounted?

If it's too difficult to run that way you can always fish it under the carpet, try to do this where no one will step on it for best results.

Yep, use a fish tape to pull the cable under the carpet. You may have to remove the pl-259 to keep it from catching on the insulation mat under the carpet. I've done this with coax, speaker wire and power cables many times.

We gots to know what antenna you are using on a Fiat 500.....we gots to know!
I think a Fiat 500 would fit in the bed of my F-150...... but you'll visit the gas pumps 50% less.
