In 1978, when I got my first radio, you were said to be "stuck in the mud" if no one could hear you in the static (mud). Like a mud-duck.

+ - = - = - = - = - = - = - = - = - = - = - = - +
+West Coast Buffalo Chip in the Big Valley.+
+Two pills and a box kite - and a little luck.+
+ - = - = - = - = - = - = - = - = - = - = - = - +

Thank you all, glad to have it cleared up.
The you tube vid is by a guy in Leeds England from my QTH that is around 650miles. Its not a term used over here on air or in the UK forums it really only gets a mention from the UK operators who visit US forums like this.
