frequency counter

I have a Euro EF 356 frequency counter it only works when I key it up and it shows the numbers, is there anyway to go in there and change something so it would show the numbers on receive when its not keyed up, I'm sure they wouldn't make a board for one direction there's got to be some how to switch something in there so it will show both ways please let me know. Thanks ps I tried to load a picture up but it wouldn't let me.

That is the way most inexpensive counters work, usually have two SO239 connectors on the back or front for the RF to go through the unit and senses the frequency. Only if there are other terminals on the unit and somewhere to get a frequency source from on the radio will it read receive. Some of those counters had a "hold" feature that fooled op's into thinking it would read the receive frequency too.

It does have SO239 connectors on the back in and out

I thought it had 2 RCA connectors as well, they are to hook to the receive IF inside a radio.
