Guns
since i've been in the sporting goods business since a kid i have accumulated a couple firearms. well, in the triple
didgets. any where from 22 lr, 222, 7.62 x 54r, to 7mm browning bar, to s x s shotguns and plenty of handguns as well as vintage levers, singles, and muzzleloaders. Although some of them are listed on the batf form 4473 in WI those forms stay at the shop/ dealership and if need be an atf offical can look(confiscate) certain ones. every gun is a needed gun. Just remember they are not weapons. the people behind them are.

Yes, it is true. Glock sued over the fact that the first generation Sigma bore a striking resemblance to their own handguns and used a similar firing mechanism (striker). It was proven that there were enough similarities that Glock won the suit.Pro-Tech wrote:S&W .40. Some local gun dealer told me that Glock sued S&W for copying my gun's design. Re: whats your gun collection
I have a bunch of them too. Been collecting since I was 15 years old AND inherited my Dads collection. He got his way back when anyone could buy guns mail order, delivered to the house.
I had one of his old sporting magazines from 1966. A Mauser 98, with a canteen, cleaning kit, "sardine can" of 8mm ammo and one of them German helmets with a spike on it..... $12.00, mail order! I think that the average annual income in Louisiana back then ranged between $6,000 to $8,000.
My feelings on guns and boxes of ammo is whenever you think you might have enough, then buy one more just to be sure.
Check at least once a month to see if you have enough.

Re: whats your gun collection
Don't scoff at the air gun BB & Airsoft stuff. They are the best training that you can get for accuracy.
You can do lots of shooting very cheap just about anywhere. Once you learn the good practices with an air gun, you can automatically shoot well with any full powered gun. I have been trying to improve my instinct shooting and bb guns are definitely the way to go as repetition is the only way to get good.
I have sticky target across the room, about 20' away, by my TV that I shoot at with my airsoft pistol too. Low light so I can't aim if I wanted to, and I can put all of my shots in the center 2" from any position on the couch.

Re: whats your gun collection
I have been selling off the more exotic calipers because of ammo prices and a market for these weapons but keeping the ones that ammo is readily available. Plan on keeping my 45-70 Winchester, was my father's and is something I don't mind hand loading. Even with that said I still have quite a collection, takes about 2 weeks to clean it all.

Marlin Lever Action 44 Magnum is a great rifle, works well when complimented with a Ruger Super Blackhawk, went hunting with them for years in my younger days. Now they both reside in my safe.

More than I can carry in my go-bag. 5000 rnds .22 hollow point ammo and a few more goodies. Carry 2 revolvers everyday one in each front pocket. Aint getting robbed again. As far as when TSHTF guns the .22s are perfect. You can leave a dead man for graves registration but you have to tend the wounded wich slows down the aggressive forces.

Re: whats your gun collection
I hold a current FFL too, so posting exactly what I have is not a issue to me. However I just don't have the time to type all of that, LOL. I will say at the shop we keep over 500 firearms in stock. I will also say that I received my first personal firearm in 1970 from my father, who also held a FFL. So as you can guess my personal collection is up there. In fact at my primary house I took a spare bedroom and use it as my man cave. I installed a bench along one entire wall for my reloading and gunsmithing [ yes I am a smith also] and the other 3 walls are lined with personal firearms. Ammo, well lets just say bring a truck.
I also hold a permit to carry dangerous weapons and do so, but only on days that end in Y. I usually carry a Springfield XD 40 Sub compact , A bond arms 410 derringer and a Colt 1903 32 acp. So as you can see, I am also a gun nut.

I am also a Marlin fan MDY. I love a good model 39, but I wont turn my nose up at a model 636 either. Now that I think about it, while I do have a Winchester 94/22 in my collection, I don't have a Marlin 39a [both are 22lr's] . I better get working on that. Those Marlin levers are just getting harder and harder to get your hands on in rimfire calibers.MDYoungblood wrote:Marlin Lever Action 44 Magnum is a great rifle, works well when complimented with a Ruger Super Blackhawk, went hunting with them for years in my younger days. Re: whats your gun collection
Now that my youngest daughter is dating again I have invested in a Azodin Kaos paintball gun, not as lethal as say a .357 or .44 but it does get the point across, shoot, one of those guys might be called "son in law" someday, lol. It's also hard to say, "I didn't do it" when you have a track of red (none oozing) dots up your back.

I had a few until my son was born, so I gave them to my Dad to hold for me. My father developed a disease called Luis Body, which is like Alzhiemers and Parkinsons together.I forgot to ask him where they were by the time he got bad. When my Mom moved from the house, they were nowhere to be found. I didn't report them stolen or lost because I know I'll find them soon.

I do have enough in my collection to make BURT in Tremors just blush.
Since I've been collecting and trading since I was old enough to play tag-along to grandpa *and I inherited his too*. I love to hunt too.
Don't you love reloading gear???
I won't list... but here is a picture of a few wall hangers.

Re: whats your gun collection
Did I mention that the middle one in the picture was HERS.
Her position on gun control is "Honey, don't think, don't aim.... just make sure you hit what you shoot!!!"
If you take too much time aiming, and thinking........
you'll loose dinner. *oatmeal, jerky, and the couch for me*
She did not know how to shoot a darned thing when I started with her... sheez.. now she is quicker at getting a rabbit on a full run with her 1851 Navy!!! And usually, she does NOT miss.
If I miss, I do the dressing of the hunt and do the cleaning of the guns.
Gun control?? It is between your hands with a good nut behind those eyes of yours.

Re: whats your gun collection
It's a funny thing. I was taking a canoe ride with all my guns the other day and wouldn't you know it, I capsized and they all went to the deep end of the lake.
That's my story and I'm sticking to it.

Re: whats your gun collection
OWWW...spendy!!
Well, it is Sunday... got to shoot my & my wife's Colts, clean, and reload em'. Got to keep the loads fresh. They have been hanging on the pegs loaded at-the-ready for over three months. Getting a bit older... I might hit one target in the first shot.
She usually does hit her first target on the first shot.... an Old Spice aftershave bottle at 25 yards. (ball and cap).
I reckon, I better behave.

Re: whats your gun collection
I actually like Henry's.
I have a couple of them. My favorite is my golden boy. It looks good, feels good to shoot and is very accurate.

I do like current production Henrys too! Lovely units!!
I'm getting a .22LR for my wife as a target rifle (yellow boy) for Christmas. I tried one last year...I just can not get it out of my mind. COOL

Re: whats your gun collection
my favorite is the semi-auto 22 rifles, fine example is the older remingtons.
but then they are all favorites when your shooting.
ammo for some calibers has gotten way outa line at $2 a shot ,
and it has only been in the recent 6 months that 22 has become "readily" available around here.
another thing i noticed, 22 guns used to be rather cheap compared to centerfired,
now they are advertised at about the same price.
i am just thankful that gungrabbinHillybabe
is not going to affect the price.
have been thinking of that semi-load of AR's coming to the gunshow. might have to pick one up.
guys talk about their AR purchases and how they prefer "build your own"version,
what sort of builds do you prefer

Working on filling safe number 2. I've gotten rid of the exotic calibers, keeping the ones I can reload ammo using my Dillon Re-loader.
