Hi Folks;
I have read in a few places about grounding from the outer coax connector (screw on type) to the chassis of a vehicle. Just how important is this? And can I strip the end of the wire and put it under an appropriatelly sized metal screw-on hose clamp around the barrel of the connector? This would allow me the freedom of removing it to change coax or antenna mounts if needed.

The shield to chassis connection is very important. If you installed the mount correctly you should have a good connection through it already.

And grounding the radio (and amp) case completes it.
