Maco 4 Element Beam opinions

Post by Tinman590 » Wednesday, 17 November 2010, 17:35 PM

I just ordered a new beam m104 I plan on mounting atop my 50' tower with my imax above it. Just wanted to get opinions, I wanted more elements but a tree that cant be cut is in the way.

Enjoy it. Are you putting a vertical on top of it? If you do the beam will make a good ground plane for it. Buy a remote coax switch so you only have to buy one run of coax, and get good coax.

If you are mounting the beam horz. with the Imax on the same mast above it. Mine works great, check out my signiture pic. The more elements the better. I did replace the Maco hardware with stainless though.
Good luck and be safe.

Good tip but I already have 213 ran to a 2m beam that I am replacing with the flat for 11m so I will use that. And yes I am putting my vertical atop the flat beam. Im like a kid waiting on santa.

I'm sure it will work very well for you. If you can and have the time after you're finished takes some pics for us.
