NMO Antenna

Post by KD0FLC » Tuesday, 12 January 2010, 8:43 AM

Where can I get a Loaded 1/4 wave antenna with an NMO mount?

I am installing a CB, but I want to keep all of my antenna mounts the same.

Yes, Larsen has a 27 MHz version of their antennas. I don't know how well it works compared to other brands though.

Wow... I just found an NMO --> 3/8X24 adapter.

Think I'm gonna go that route instead.

Comtelco makes commercial grade antennas. I've used a few over the years for low band , 2m and 70cm amateur radio. I think they also discount listed prices for hams...at least they used to.

That's what I was going to say, I thought there were one or two manufacturers making adapters. I opted to just do 3/8x24 2m antenna instead of going NMO. Mostly because virtually all my radio stuff is HF with the occasional VHF activity. At the time I couldn't find any adapters, but I think there are some now.
