BOOMER 250 DELUXE AMP REPAIR

#350804

Post by Heartbreak98 »

Hello,

I am in the process of repairing a Boomer 250 Deluxe for a friend of mine and am having a hard time finding a schematic. I need to replace 2 burnt resistors on the board and cannot determine their values. I searched the internet and cannot find internal pictures of this unit. I was wondering if anyone would be able to post a picture of what the inside of this amp looks like, so I can see the color code of the resistors. All help will be greatly appreciated!!!!!!!

Since I cannot post pictures, the amp is gold in color with black lettering.

Again, your help is greatly appreciated!!!

Hello Heartbreak98,
I believe that is the schematic you need for that amp. You can check by matching up with the finals. Follow the traces to see which resistors they are.
You need to get you post count up to post pics, over ten post will do it. You can start by posting an intro in the "Welcome to the Forum" topic, http://www.cbradiotalk.com/viewforum.php?f=89 .

I greatly appreciate everyone's help so far, but unfortunately that is not the right schematic. If you can Winiak, you can send the picture to my home email at kdka542 @ hotmail . com (no spaces of course)

Thanks!!!

Hi Heartbreak98,
Get your post count over 10 and then post some pics of the amp inside and out maybe we could compare it to something we have done work on before. The Boomer name was copied on a couple amps along with the Palomar name but the circuity was about the same. Showing a pic of what you need would help. Write an intro in the "Welcome to the Forum" topic and answer some posts and you will have 10 posts in no time.

Hello Again,

After doing some research online, I found out that the Boomer Deluxe 250 is almost internally indentical to the Palomar Elite 250 High Drive. Since they both use 2 x "3749" transistors, I figured they should have near identical values. After ordering and installing the two resistors, the amp is back up and working again, with full output. Thanks again for everyone's input and advice.

Enjoy!
