Man, once the certified letter shows up the fun is over. Hide everything offsite except for a KL-203 and have them come in to inspect. Tell them you didn't realize a small amp like that was illegal, let them confiscate it, and apologize profusely.

This is a good example of exactly not what to do, both in causing massive interference and completely ignoring the FCC. Learn from others' mistakes my friends.

AS they say I fought the law and the LAW WON.

You may outfox them in the small battles but get arrogant and:

I smile when you smile,

I laugh when you laugh,

I cry when you cry,

but if you get caught breaking the law,

I gonna' miss your emails.

Hey JD, I wouldn't even loose a 203, just get an old RS TRC-30A and turn the cans in it, when they come in just say " This little radio was doing all that ", lol.

It seems the whole problem started with interference with his neighbors TVs and telephones...
You just can't do that...

What a dummy! He had plenty of chances to contact them and work it out. I bet he contacts them now! The FCC isn't anyone to play with. I am sure he thought nobody cares, its just a old CB. I also wonder how many times his neighbors complained to him before they contacted the FCC? Also to get any action from them, the likely had a neighbor who was connected in someways to the FCC. Just a guess.

The frequencies they caught him on, he must of been a big time "Super Bowl" player. They gave him until June 13th to pay the fines and until the 28th to comply with the inspections. By that time the house will be unoccupied and he will be nowhere to be found. I bet the antennas are already gone off the roof. He will be back up and running in July at his new residence.

How stupid can one be? I knew it wouldn't take long. Come to think of it, I cant believe it went on for this long. I live 10 miles from down town Pittsburgh and I know how close those houses are to each other. I hear this guy ALL the time, well not anymore, and I always felt sorry for his neighbors. The FCC gave him plenty of time and opportunity to make things right. How could one possibly think that pushing 1000's of watts in a densely populated city with businesses and homes wouldn't cause havoc? I remember driving through the Fort Pitt tunnels and I wasn't even all the way out when I started hearing his signal. I really do hate to say this but, he deserves it. Bummer man.

I think you have gotta address this s**t before it get's out of hand. It's hard to feel sorry for someone who doesn't put their hands up and say ok, it was fun while it lasted, but I'm gonna stop being anti-social now, because that's what this all about. It's not cool to be anti-social like that. IMO.

The ARRL does a nice job in reporting the citations and fines but never any results. The FCC used to post the court decisions but that too is in the past.
Here is the latest casualty; http://www.arrl.org/news/fcc-targets-on ... n-citation" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; . Luckily they aren't one of the sponsors.
