Lighted toggle switches
Hello CBRT, I did the channel expansion on my Galaxy DX959. What i'm wondering, is it possible to use a spst lighted switch for this. I ask because when i put my test meter to the pins to figure the wiring, no matter how i do it, there will be power, which seems it would kill my radio. Just wondering if anyone has used these before for this application. Or maybe i should be using a spdt switch. Which i think i do.
Peace all

Re: Lighted toggle switches
I have a cure, going to hook up a power supply to it and test the volts across the pins. Just to make sure no volts are going to my radio

Re: Lighted toggle switches
I think the lighted SPST switches will only work when the make/break poll is a ground. You don't want to be suppling the mod with a 12v source, it will fry the PLL circuit. now on the other hand using a DPST switch, one half is the 12v souce and a ground the other can switch the mod.

Re: Lighted toggle switches
I figured i had the wrong switch, just wasn't quit sure which one i needed. And that's what i was trying to avoid, volts going to the pll.

I like blue, and it tends to be easier on the eyes. I forgot to include my switch box which has the on/off switch for my lights.
