PA sound
Hi there, I have a cobra 29 wx nw st and I was wondering if it's normal that when you switch to PA , the CB audio comes out the PA speaker. I am trying to determine if there is a problem with this rig.
Thanks for the help.

Re: PA sound
Hello rubberboot,
Welcome to the forum. Usually it doesn't, switching to PA should disconnect the receive section in the radio but there are some older radios that do. Does your radio have a talkback feature or someone installed the resistor mod to get talkback in the radio,, in that case yes you will hear the receive when the PA is turned on.
As a new member could you post an intro in the "Welcome to the Forum" topic, http://www.cbradiotalk.com/viewforum.php?f=89 , so others here can say "Hi", thanks.

Re: PA sound
Sounds like you got a hacked-up radio...

Re: PA sound
sometimes guys would wire it like that so they could be out away from the vehicle but still monitor the CB.

Re: PA sound
It may have been wired so if you were using a external speaker plugged into the PA, you would have "talk-Back"...Just need to reverse the mod.
This may help.
