Doing some CB research Q1 of 9

I'm doing some research for a paper for school on CB radios. I have a survey created, but it was suggested that some survey sites collect information from the responders IP address. In the name of keeping your information in your hands, It was suggested to use the forum instead of the site. I can only create one poll question on each topic so I'll have 9 topics. I am using the Cb Radio as a Hobby

98% of people today that still have working cb stations probably are just in it as a hobby, and most of them are older people who grew up during the 70's CB craze...

some are survivalist that have one for when Dooms-Day takes out all other forms of communication...

Few older-trucker's still consider them "as a tool"... although even they keep them turned off when entering a large city.

Hobby when I was a kid in high school. Had me a Browning Sabre if I remember right. Think I still have it and a Texas Star 200 or 250 somewhere around here. Now it is more a tool. Keep track of road conditions and warn others of whatever. Find out what the coops are doing, etc. Yep , I am an older trucker, I guess. Most all of us aggies still run a radio. I am getting more interested as a hobby though. Might take my 99 and set it up in the shop as a base just for grins. Much cheaper than constantly trying to squeeze a little more out of a Cat engine. At 600+rwhp and there is always someone that will outpull ya. lol

Definitely in this as a hobby . Slowly working toward getting more involved in ARES through Ham radio.
