Old Palomar amp - more info?

Post by VeeDubTDI » Monday, 24 December 2012, 17:08 PM

Hi folks and merry Christmas Eve.

I picked up this beast at a local HAM swap meet for $100 a while ago. I don't know any of the specifics about it and haven't had much luck tracking down more info online.

I have hooked it up an it will put out a 15w DK and about 40 watts PEP, no difference when switched to high according to my Shack SWR/power meter. Receive amp works well.

Have any of you come across one of these or know any more info about it?

Thanks! :)

I should also add that there was a "225 HD" label on the front of it that looked like it had been made with someone's label maker.

So I did a little more research on the pills and found this. http://www.datasheetcatalog.org/datashe ... s/2805.pdf" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

Gonna go through the amp on a bench and see what I can figure out. Based on some stuff on cb tricks, it looks like it is related to the Palomar Elite - perhaps an older version of it.
